Soda Bottles

Welcome to my collection of soda bottles!
I started collecting soda related items in 2013. It started as a small collection of Orange Crush bottle caps but quickly grew as I decided to add a few different brands and then decided I wanted to collect the bottles for them as well. I now have over 100 bottles from my personal favorite brands.
This page is aimed at helping fellow collectors see what variations of bottles exist so that they can complete their own collections.

Some notes:
- The collection stops at 1960. I decided to put this limitation on myself because if I went any farther, I'd go broke and run out of already limited space very quickly. I also limit it because the 1940s and 1950s to me is the "golden age" of soda history. The 1960s brought on disposable / throw-away bottles, big brands buying out and owning smaller brands, and ACL logos dropped considerably in design quality.
- The collection only consists of US bottles. Once again, if I opened my world to foreign bottles, I'd run out of space and money.
- The collection is in no way complete. I know there are bottles out there that I am missing with every brand I have. If you know of any that are missing, and especially where to find examples of them, please contact me!
- The collection should not serve as a definitive guide to design changes for the brands. Some brands had local franchise bottlers that preferred to use one variation of a design over the other. There are examples of local bottlers continuing to use an older logo design, even when a new design was rolled out nationally. I only provide dates with them so you can get a rough idea of what logos and variations existed during a certain period. The dates do not represent a specific change over to that particular design.
- The collection is based on front ACL logo (and neck logo) variations only. I do not collect anything based on different rear labels, ingredient lists, or cities / states. I also usually personally do not consider bottle content, bottle shape or bottle size to be major variants that justify the need for another example in the collection.
- The collection features only "individual" sized bottles that one could get from a cooler or machine. I don't have the space to start collecting huge family size bottles.
- The collection has a majority of bottles that are filled and re-capped. The soda inside is the modern cane sugar variant of each brand for authenticity sake.
- The collection is not for sale or trade.
